V5.8 (WCTME-EO) is a significant addition to the IBM Workplace
family of products.

The WCTME Enterprise Offering extends IBM's server-based Workplace
Client Technology model-which simplifies the development, deployment,
and management of business applications across a broad range of
client devices and operating systems.

WCTME-EO is a software program that provides a run-time environment
and integrated middleware components for extending many enterprise
applications to server-managed laptop computers and desktop systems.

This programming model provides a platform that can enable end-to-end
device-to-server solutions, supporting the creation of new and
compelling functions.

WCTME-EO also provides a client-side Services Oriented Framework
that can be used by network and system administrators to deploy,
maintain, update, and even remove software from end-user machines,
without the need for end-user intervention.
